Performance is the page for the question "is my child getting better". It shows how your child's results project against their preference schools, trends and a breakdown by skill. It does not show individual answers, and it has no links into a paper.
The four tabs
- Projections, the school outlook (below). The page opens on it.
- Skills, accuracy by subject, each with a button to that subject on LearningHub (Writing goes to WritingHub). Below it, By topic switches between the subjects, weakest first: topics for Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills (once three questions in a topic have been attempted), question formats for Reading (Reading, Extract, Cloze and Inline Cloze, also from three questions) and prompt types for Writing, such as Persuasive, from the first submission. Each row links out to practise it.
- Progress, score over time with a rolling average, over 30 days, 90 days, 6 months or a year; Score sense, how close your child's own estimates land to their real marks; a difficulty curve; and average time per question by subject.
- History, a table of every attempt, newest first, with the date, the paper, the year level, the score and the duration. It can be sorted, filtered by year level and paged through.
The school outlook
The Projections tab projects one set of papers against the schools on your preference list. A set is the Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills and Reading papers with the same number (Selective 05, say), plus the Writing paper with that number for Selective. OC sets have no Writing paper, because the OC test has none. Students in a Selective or OC class can also choose a term test set, such as the Term 3 Selective tests numbered 01.
- The Built on menu picks the set. It starts on your most recently finished set and lists every set you have started with how many papers are done, so it also shows exactly which papers a set is still missing, each with a link to start it.
- Each paper counts your first serious attempt (at least half the time and half the questions). A retake of a paper you have already seen never moves the outlook.
- Each paper shows your percentile: where your first attempt ranks among real students' first attempts at the same paper. The papers combine, equally weighted, into a combined percentile. A paper with fewer than 20 sittings is marked as an early signal.
- Each school then gets a rating from Offer very likely down to Building toward, built from real placement results of students with a similar profile and our estimate of the school's entry standard.
The per-paper percentiles are shown to everyone. The combined percentile and the school ratings are part of any test bundle; the unlock button on the outlook goes to the bundles on the Practice page. These are projections, not guarantees: some things can only be measured under real exam conditions, which is what the ACST is for.
Term Test Results
Students in Advanced Concepts Class or High School Maths Mastery also get a Term Test Results tab with the marks from the tests they sit in class. A student who is not on the OC or Selective track sees that tab on its own. See Term test results.
Where the answers are
The History table lists attempts but does not open them. To see your child's answers, the correct answers and the explanations, go to Practice, open the Results & Review tab and press Review Attempt. For a paper a teacher set, use Classwork and its own Results & Review tab. See Reviewing a marked test.
Notes you may see
An attempt opened but never really worked is marked Excluded and left out of the averages. One done in a fraction of the time, or with most questions skipped, is marked Low effort. Both show in the History table; untick Show flagged attempts to hide them. A paper still being marked shows Not marked in the score column.
The history is kept even after a test bundle expires.
