Where teacher feedback appears

Written feedback from a teacher appears in the Teacher Feedback card on the Classroom page, under the list of classes. Each entry shows the teacher's name and photo, when it was last updated, and what they wrote.

How it works

A teacher usually writes a note for a class while marking the roll, so most entries are about one lesson. They can also write one at any other time. The newest note is at the top, and notes from more than one teacher, and from 1-on-1 tutors, share the same list. Until a teacher has written anything, the card reads No feedback from your teacher yet. It will show up here after a class.

The feedback email

Each new note is also emailed to the account's email address, with a copy to the parent email on file if that is a different inbox. The email has the teacher's note in full and a button that opens it on the dashboard. The button signs in as the student and opens the Classroom page with that note highlighted, on a computer or a phone. It works for 30 days and stops working if the account password changes. After that, sign in as usual and the note is still on the Teacher Feedback card. If a teacher edits a note later, the card shows the new wording but no second email is sent.

Feedback is not written on the homework

Homework marks come from Testy's marking, with any changes the student made when checking it, and a teacher does not write comments back onto the feedback page. What the teacher sees there is the handed in work, Testy's read of every question beside the student's marks, which questions were got stuck or changed, and the note the student left. Anything the teacher wants to say about it comes back through the Teacher Feedback card or in class.

Writing back

The Notes for your teacher box on the feedback page is the place to ask about a question or explain what was hard. It is read alongside the marked work. For anything urgent, or anything about enrolment or payment, contact the team rather than leaving it in a note.

Reports on progress

Beyond this card, progress lives in the numbers: the homework totals on the Homework page, the score on each test, the term test results on the Performance page, and the performance pages for online practice. A family who wants a fuller picture than the card gives should ask the team, who can arrange a conversation with the teacher.
